Lima is the country’s capital as well as the main gateway to Perú. Lima city used to be the heart of Spanish culture, named “City of Kings” by the Spanish Conquerors.  More than eight million people live in Lima, a third of the population of Peru. The districts of San Isidro and Miraflores represent the modern face of the city.  

This metropolis has some unbeatable cultural and gastronomic attractions that are becoming ever more popular among sophisticated visitors. Lima has a magnificent history. The most traditional part of the city has colonial churches and architecture and fabulous museums, with rich treasures and private collections is a place you must visit.  These reasons justify a well planned visit. Visitors can see all of this in the history zone within the museum.

Inside the kings’ city visitors can see: The Main Square, the Government’s Palace, Museum, the Museum of the Inquisition and Congress, the Municipality Building and the Cathedral, The Tagle´ Tower Palace, which was built in 1735 along with many other attractions.

MUSEUMS AND TOURS

THE LARCO MUSEUM: Located in an extraordinary vice royal mansion of the 18th century, it has the most exquisite gold and silver collection from Ancient Peru. It also has the famous collection of erotic art, which is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Peru.

NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGY, ANTHROPOLOGY AND HISTORY MUSEUM: This is an extraordinary museum in Peru, as it presents the most significant and complete chronological sequence.  It starts from the first inhabitants until today, including our pre-Hispanic history. You can see extraordinary objects like the Estela Raimondi and the Tello obelisk, plus there are ceramics, textiles, lithic, metallic, bones and objects of colonial and republican art.

PEDRO DE OSMA MUSEUM: The artistic background of the Pedro de Osma museum comes from the personal collection of Senior Pedro de Osma Gildemeister between 1936 - 1967. The collector was an expert in Peruvian vice royal art.  His collection was gradually enhanced by several extraordinary and valuable objects, which reflect the wealth of Peruvian art of the XVI, XVII, XVIII and XIX centuries.

GOLD’S MUSEUM OF PERU: Visitors can appreciate magnificent gold pieces and weapons of the world. The ancient Ancient Peruvian metals works were extraordinary. The procedure “Cireperdue” (cera perdida) was known in the east but had disappeared in the west until the Renaissance period, this procedure was very popular among these goldsmiths.
A visit to the Golden Museum of Peru lets us appreciate a fabulous collection of gold pieces from different Peruvian cultures, some of them more than 3000 years old. You can see valuable relics and jewelry made of gold, silver and other precious stones.  These objects were used by the Incas, they were considered as sons of the sun and emperors of the Inca Empire.

AMANO MUSEUM: This museum exhibits different pieces of ceramics, textiles, and objects from different Peruvian cultures. Amano museum has the unique collection of textile art and graffiti from north of Lima. It also has ceramics from the Chancay culture. Also, you can appreciate the display of different pieces from northern Peru and the Peruvian Andes.

NATION’S MUSEUM: Visitors can appreciate valuable tools used by hunters and farmers and also ancient Incan relics. Most of these expressions come from different lifestyles that occurred in different cultures in Peru.


APTIONAL:

PACHACAMAC TEMPLE: This famous temple was built between 200-600 AD, exactlywhen the Wari Empire was destroyed. Pachacamac was the main place where the Ishma empire was located (1200 -1450 AD). Until the middle of the XV century when the Incas Empire occupied them, directed by Tupac Yupanqui. However, this didn’t mean that Pachacamac disappeared, because the Incas worshipped it also. Pachacamac is known as the God of earthquakes.

PALOMINO ISLANDS: It is about 30 minutes from Lima Centre. This tour allows you to be in contact with an undiscoverd side of Lima life, and this is almost 4 hours long. We will travel in comfortable surroundings, either by yacht or cruise ship depending on your requirements. While your travelling you can enjoy a concert of sound from the sea birds and seals that are used to the presence of humans. Vistors can even swim amongst these noble animals.
